The Punjab government has decided to provide a chance for issuance of Red ID Card registration to the heads of Sikh families, who migrated to Punjab between November 1, 1984 and December 11, 1985 in the wake of anti-sikh riots of 1984. This is being provided to all those families,
who could not get themselves registered earlier to avail the concessions and other facilities provided by government from time to time.
Disclosing this here on Friday an official spokesman said that it had been observed that some affected families could not avail the concessions and facilities being provided by the government, so the decision to provide an additional and last chance to the remaining families had been taken by the state government.
He said that the remaining families, who could not get themselves registered in the list of Red ID Cards, could apply for registration and issuance of Red ID Cards before April 8, 2013.
The spokesman informed that the application could be submitted with the concerned deputy commissioner on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 25 along with the full details of the affected family.
